The Hidden Gem provides lapidary services in Loomis, CA including rock cutting, slab cutting, flat/face polishing, crystal/rock cleaning, and jewelry cleaning. We also offer Metal Detecting Search & Recovery (24/7) for lost items and property searches, with extended service into Sacramento County and El Dorado County.
Rock Cutting (Per Cut)
Sized by longest edge. Water-cooled diamond blade for clean, straight cuts.
Slabs (Per Slab)
Standard 1/4"–3/8" slabs oriented to show pattern.
Extra-thick option available. Does not include polishing.

Cabochons
Cabochon cutting and polishing is available for select materials. Pricing depends on hardness, size, stability/fractures, and shaping time. We’ll evaluate your stone and quote the job before starting.

Flat / Face Polish (Mirror Finish)
Mirror finish that makes colors pop. Progressive diamond grits with mineral-safe compound. Second face: 20% off.
Crystal / Rock Cleaning
Pick your shine: gentle refresh to full restoration, tailored to the mineral.
Jewelry Cleaning
Professional cleaning for rings, chains, earrings, bracelets, and everyday pieces. Pricing depends on material type and condition (gold, silver, costume, stones/settings).
Extra dirty jewelry fee: +$10 (heavy buildup, ground-in grime, or multiple passes required). If a piece needs special handling (delicate settings, soft stones, plated/costume), we’ll advise the safest option.
Metal Detecting Search & Recovery (24/7)
Available 24 hours a day for urgent recoveries and scheduled searches. On-site metal detecting for lost items, buried objects, and property searches. Common recoveries include rings/jewelry, keys, tools, and other personal items.
Service Rates
$75 first hour • $50 each additional hour
After-Hours: +$40 per hour
Applies outside standard business hours.

Placer County: No travel fee
Sacramento County: $1.00/mile (round-trip)
El Dorado County: $1.25/mile (round-trip)
Mileage calculated using standard mapping distance from Loomis.
Extended distance / difficult terrain quoted case-by-case. Recovery only — no excavation or property damage without approval.
