Each lot is personally sourced and hand-selected for visible wood grain, natural color, mineral patterning, and lapidary potential. Over immense spans of time, minerals gradually replaced the original wood while preserving features such as growth lines, knots, bark texture, and cellular patterns.
Some pieces may also contain natural druzy crystal pockets or sparkling quartz-lined cavities, adding another layer of surprise when the material is cut or cleaned. Druzy is not guaranteed in every order.
Ideal for cutting, slabbing, cabochons, freeform stones, tumbling, wire wrapping, specimen displays, and natural history collections.
Each order includes approximately one pound of natural, uncut petrified wood rough. Colors, sizes, shapes, grain patterns, and mineralization will vary. Natural fractures, pits, weathered surfaces, matrix, and softer areas may be present.
Photos may show the material wet to better reveal its potential color and pattern.
